German army to continue with Mediterranean, South Sudan missions

The German parliament has approved Germany’s participation in NATO’s Sea Guardian mission to monitor the Mediterranean Sea for another year, as part of efforts to fight terrorism and arms smuggling. On Friday, 507 members of the Bundestag voted in favour of the renewed mandate, with 100 against and one abstention.
