Eleven people Friday were killed when a speedboat carrying 78 people sank in western Indonesia, said an official.
Newman Sidhakarya, Director of the Search and Rescue Department in Pekanbaru city, said in a statement by international news agencies that the rescue personnel rescued 58 out of 78 passengers on board.
Sidhakarya stated that rescue personnel found the bodies of 11 people and that search operations are underway for nine other people.
