Child dies in Sudan after being shot in the head at protest

A child protester has died on Sunday of injuries sustained in an anti-coup march that was attacked by Sudanese forces in the city of Omdurman on Thursday. Thirteen-year-old Ahmad Maqam al-Din died late on Sunday after attempts to treat him in intensive care for a bullet wound to the head failed, the Sudanese Central Doctors’ Committee said. He was wounded in Omdurman near Khartoum after security forces opened fire on the protesters.
