16 martyrs, dozens of wounded on the 124th day of Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip


Occupied Jerusalem, 16 Palestinians were martyred and others were injured on Wednesday in the ongoing aggression launched by the Israeli occupation on the war-ravaged Gaza Strip for the 124th day in a row.

Wafa news agency reported that the occupation aircraft bombed al-Zohour neighborhood and the western and eastern areas of Rafah city, southern Gaza Strip, which led to the martyrdom of 14 Palestinians and dozens of injuries, while the occupation boats targeted the coast of the city.

Two Palestinians were martyred and others were wounded by Israeli snipers in al-Rimal area south of Gaza City and in the vicinity of Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip.

The occupation also shelled the Qizan al-Najjar area and several areas in Khan Yunis with aircraft and artillery and destroyed a number of residential blocks.

In the same context, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) warned of the occupation invasion of Rafah, saying that any move by Israel to expand its co
mprehensive invasion of the Gaza Strip to include the densely populated city of Rafah may lead to war crimes that must be prevented by all means.

US attacks on Syria and Iraq, a serious threat to international peace – Iravani says


Tehran, Iranian Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Amir Saeid Iravani, has condemned the recent US attacks on Syrian and Iraqi territories.

‘These illegal US acts deliberately targeted civilians and basic infrastructure causing many casualties and injuries among civilians’, Iravani said in a letter to interim president of UN Security Council.

Iravani stressed that such illegal actions not only violate international laws and the UN Charter, but also endanger peace and stability in the region and are deemed a serious threat to international peace and security.

He has affirmed his country’s rejection of the baseless accusations and allegations contained in the US letter to the Council on carrying out military attacks in the region by Iranian armed forces.

Iraq renews condemnation of US attacks on its territory


New York, Chargé d’affaires of Iraqi Mission to UN in New York Dr. Abbas Kadhim Obaid has affirmed his country’s rejection of the US attacks on Iraqi territory.

‘We reject the attacks on our territory, as they violate sovereignty and threaten security and stability, and Iraq will not allow any party to destabilize its security and stability,’ Obaid said in a speech at Security Council quoted by Iraqi News Agency (INA).

Obaid added that the security apparatuses continue their work in confronting terrorism and combating drugs and drying up their resources.

Regarding the Israeli aggression on Gaza, Obaid said ‘we call for putting an end to this aggression and allowing the entry of humanitarian aid,’ warning against the danger of escalating the conflict in the region.

Qatari team qualifies for Asian Cup final, faces national team on Saturda

Doha: The Qatari national football team qualified for the final match of the Asian Cup held in Qatar after defeating the Iranian team in the semi-final match on Wednesday.

The national team will meet its Qatari counterpart on Saturday in the final match.

The national team has reached the Asian Cup final match for the first time in its history.

Chile’s former president Sebastian Pinera dies in helicopter crash


Santiago, Chile’s two-time former president Sebastián Piñera has died in a helicopter crash at the age of 74.

‘It is with deep regret that we announce the death of the former President of the Republic of Chile’, the President Pinera’s office said in a statement, noting that Pinera, 74 years old, died in the Lago Rancho area, which is considered a tourist destination and is located about 920 kilometers south of Santiago.

Pinera assumed the presidency for the first time in 2010 for a four-year term, then returned and assumed the position from 2018 until 2022.

A number of civilians martyred, others injured in Israeli aggression on Homs and its countryside


Damascus, A number of civilians were martyred and others were injured at dawn on Wednesday in an Israeli missile aggression that targeted a number of points in the city of Homs and its countryside.

‘At approximately 00:30 at dawn on Wednesday, the Israeli enemy launched an aerial attack with missiles from a direction northern of Tripoli, targeting a number of points in the city of Homs and its countryside, and the army air defenses intercepted the aggression’s missiles and shot down some of them.’
