Bybit Launches Unified Trading Fest: Unlock $700K Prize Pool and Optimize Trades

DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES – Media OutReach – 8 March 2023 – Bybit, the world’s third most visited crypto exchange, is proud to announce the launch of its first Unified Trading Fest competition. With over $700,000 in rewards up for grabs, this is an event for all Bybit traders. The 2-week-long competition starts on March 8th and ends on March 25th.

The competition offers a unique trading experience, allowing users to optimize their trades with Bybit’s new unified trading account (UTA). The UTA allows traders to manage their positions across both spot and derivatives trading with one single account. During the competition, users will be ranked based on their total trading volume during the two-week period.

Bybit has claimed the no. 2 spot in futures and perpetuals trading several times this year with daily trading volume totaling tens of billions of dollars thanks to its deep liquidity and split-second trading engine. Indeed, Bybit recorded its highest-ever market share in crypto derivative markets at 14.6% in January 2023.

The event is open to all users trading either spot (excluding USDC/USDT, BUSD/USDT, DAI/USDT, WBTC/BTC, and all USDC Spot pairs) or derivatives (USDC and USDT contracts). To qualify for rewards, traders must hit a total trading volume of at least $1,000 during the two weeks. And those who upgrade to UTA and hit a minimum trading volume of $10,000 on perpetual contracts will be eligible for an extra 50,000 USDC prize pool.

The higher a trader’s total volume is, the better their rank on the leaderboard, and the more rewards get unlocked. The prize pool for this competition includes both ranking prizes as well as random draw prizes for top participants who meet certain criteria, so there are multiple chances to win.

Bybit’s UTA is an all-in-one upgrade optimized for seamless and strategic trading. It enables users to trade across instruments such as spot, futures, perpetuals, and options all from one account. Also offering a clear and comprehensive view of risk and margin across positions, Bybit’s UTA supports over 60 asset types for cross-margin trading and unrealized profits can be used to open new positions for utmost flexibility and capital efficiency.

“Bybit is all about delivering next-level opportunities,” said Ben Zhou, co-founder and CEO of Bybit. “We have built an incredible product with our UTA and to celebrate its successful launch, I encourage all traders to come and see for themselves the benefits of trading with Bybit’s UTA and capture their share of this fantastic prize pool.”

Witness the European unveiling of LeddarTech’s newest products!

The LeddarVision Front-View (LVF) family of automotive software products addresses the challenges faced when developing Level 2/2+ ADAS applications, such as solving safety issues and finding scalable fusion and perception software that offers high performance at a low cost. These two distinct products are comprehensive low-level fusion and perception software stacks that optimally combine sensor modalities for Level 2/2+ ADAS applications achieving a 5-star NCAP 2025/GSR 2022 rating.

  • LeddarVision Front (Entry-Level) (LVF-E): This product pushes the performance envelope, doubling the effective range of the sensors and enabling, for the first time, a solution with only three sensors. Low-cost sensing, together with efficient implementation on the TDA4L platform, achieves the lowest system cost for L2/L2+ entry-level ADAS.
  • LeddarVision Front (High-End) (LVF-H): With sensor configuration extended to 1V5R based on a single 3-megapixel 120-degree camera and five radars, the LVF-H stack extends the perception support to highway assist applications, including 160 km/h adaptive cruise control, 200-meter range and semi-automated lane change. These plus other features, including low-cost sensing, achieve economical front-view L2/L2+ premium ADAS.

Special Feature: LeddarVision Surround (LVS-2+). This product efficiently extends the LVF front-view product family 1VxR sensor configuration to a 5V5R configuration, enhancing support to traffic jam assist (TJA) and highway assist (HWA) applications. It also enables applications such as automated lane change, overtaking and extended speed range adaptive cruise control (ACC). Furthermore, the LVS-2+ supports premium surround-view L2/L2+ ADAS highway assistance and 5-star NCAP 2025/GSR 2022 safety applications.

Plastic Entering Oceans Could Nearly Triple by 2040, Research Finds

Plastics entering the world’s oceans have surged by an unprecedented amount since 2005 and could nearly triple by 2040 if no further action is taken, according to research published on Wednesday.

An estimated 171 trillion plastic particles were afloat in the oceans by 2019, according to peer-reviewed research led by the 5 Gyres Institute, a U.S. organization that campaigns to reduce plastic pollution.

Marine plastic pollution could rise 2.6-fold by 2040 if legally binding global policies are not introduced, it predicted.

The study looked at surface-level plastic pollution data from 11,777 ocean stations in six major marine regions covering the period from 1979 to 2019.

“We’ve found an alarming trend of exponential growth in microplastics in the global ocean since the millennium,” Marcus Eriksen, co-founder of the 5 Gyres Group said in a statement.

“We need a strong legally binding U.N. global treaty on plastic pollution that stops the problem at the source,” he added.

Microplastics are particularly hazardous to the oceans, not only contaminating water but also damaging the internal organs of marine animals, which mistake plastic for food.

Experts said the study showed that the level of marine plastic pollution in the oceans has been underestimated.

“The numbers in this new research are staggeringly phenomenal and almost beyond comprehension,” said Paul Harvey, a scientist and plastics expert with Environmental Science Solutions, an Australian consultancy focused on pollution reduction.

The United Nations kicked off negotiations on an agreement to tackle plastic pollution in Uruguay in November, with the aim of drawing up a legally binding treaty by the end of next year.

Environmental group Greenpeace said that without a strong global treaty, plastic production could double within the next 10 to 15 years, and triple by 2050.

A separate international treaty was agreed on Sunday to help protect biodiversity in the world’s high seas.

Sudanese army did not recruit Musa Hilal’s fighters: spokesman

Sudanese army spokesman denied on Wednesday recruiting troops on a tribal basis in the states of the Darfur region.

Activists from the Arab tribes reported large-scale recruitment campaigns among former fighters of the Border Guard Forces, supporters of Hemetti’s tribal rival Musa Hilal.

Hilal had been arrested in 2017 under the former regime by Mohamed Hamdan Daglo Hemetti. Al-Bashir confiscated Halil’s gold mines in North Darfur and gave them to the commander of the Rapid Support Forces.

“The national army does not recruit anyone on a tribal basis throughout its history. The recruitment is open to all Sudanese people, and that tribal and clan profiling has no place in the Sudanese army,” The Sudanese army spokesman, Brig Gen Nabil Abdallah, told Sudan Tribune. He considered the

He further described “ridiculous” reports about the recruitment of Arab tribesmen in Darfur.

The dispute over the framework agreement between the head of the Sovereignty Council, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, and his deputy, Hamitti, opened the door to rumours and more instability in the country.

The rift between the two military leaders takes place while a series of reports in the international media speak about Hemetti’s involvement in regional conflicts in the Central African Republic and Chad alongside Wagner mercenaries.
