Norwegian delegation visits Jordan Media Institute

Her Royal Highness Princess Rym al-Ali, founder of the Jordan Media Institute (JMI), met with a delegation from the Norwegian Institute of Journalism, led by its Head Siri Skaalmo. Her Highness and the delegation discussed a cooperation agreement they had previously signed and explored future projects aimed at journalism training. The meeting tackled the critical role of the press in promoting values of justice, dialogue, openness to others, and acceptance of difference in order to push democracy forward, in addition to artificial intelligence challenges in newsrooms and the importance of journalists’ critical thinking and analytical skills in using new technologies. Torry Pederson, a trainer at the Norwegian institute and an expert in digital transformation, held a 2-day training workshop for JMI’s master’s students in journalism and media.
