North Korea launches intercontinental ballistic missile

North Korea Friday said it had launched a new type of solid-fuel intercontinental ballistic missile “under the supervision” of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. North Korea test-fired the Hwasong-18 intercontinental ballistic missile as a potential main force of its strategic armed forces the day before, according to the North’s Korean Central News Agency. The agency stated that the test did not have any negative impact on the safety of neighboring countries and that the first part, which was separated from the missile, fell into the sea 10 kilometers in front of the Hodo Peninsula in the town of Kumiya in South Hamgyong Province in the north, and the second part fell into the sea. 355 km east of Orang Town, North Hamgyong Province.
