Netherlands thanks Jordan for Dutch nationals after fleeing Sudan

The Dutch Foreign Minister, Wupke Hoekstra, Sunday thanked the Jordanian government for taking in Dutch nationals who had been evacuated from war-torn Sudan as a stop before leaving for the Netherlands.

“I am very grateful to the Jordanian government and my dear colleague Ayman Safadi for hosting our ambassador and staff from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Defence to monitor the situation in Sudan,” he wrote on Twitter.

Jordan provided support to facilitate the evacuation for Dutch nationals from Sudan. The Netherlands used Jordanian airports as a base for Dutch evacuation flights to bring nationals from Sudan and return to Jordanian territory
