JUST hosts Japanese day to promote cultural exchange

The Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) on Thursday hosted a Japanese cultural day event, aimed at introducing students to the unique and rich Japanese culture. The event, arranged in cooperation with the Japanese Embassy in Amman and the JICA Alumni Association of Jordan, featured a presentation on the history of Japanese culture, sports, and traditions, as well as a display of Japanese traditional costumes. Students were also treated to a variety of Japanese music performances. Japanese Ambassador to Jordan Okuyama Jiro praised the event and emphasized the importance of cultural exchange in promoting mutual understanding and cooperation between Jordan and Japan. JUST president Khalid Al-Salem said that celebrating the Japanese cultural day comes as part of the university’s collaborative and beneficial partnership with the Japanese embassy, emphasizing the university’s interest in introducing students to world civilizations. “JUST places a strong emphasis on establishing international research collaborations and growing its network of overseas partners with Japanese institutions, in order to take advantage of the best research techniques and generate high-caliber scientific results,” he added.
