JFDA launches 10 new e-services to streamline food, drug administration

The Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) on Thursday announced the launch of 10 new electronic services through a unified integrated digital platform, in a move aimed at streamlining its operations and making its services more accessible to the public. The newly developed e-services cover a range of areas related to food and drug administration, and include the issuance of food contact approval certificate, health certificates for export purposes, free sale certificate, free sale for medicines certificate, and good manufacturing practice certificate, (JFDA) Director General Nizar Muhaidat said in a statement. “The services also include the permission to import materials intended for food contact, food additive, and secondary food additive, in addition to technical consultations,” he added. The new platform will allow individuals and businesses to access JFDA services online, without the need to visit its offices in person, as part of the Pre-approvals and Licenses project which is supported by the United Nations Development Program.
