Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Sudan Kirati has said that the indigenous communities in the country have started raising the issues of identity lately.
Marking the closing of the 8th national conference of the Youth Federation of Indigenous Nationalities at Hariwan in Sarlahi district on Tuesday, Minister Kirati viewed, “Although the indigenous people had a strong presence in the political movements in 2046 BS, 2062/62 BS, this class of people are still exploited.”
Speaking of the need to look deep into the Nepali society, the Minister opined that our society should move ahead by carrying its own cultures and psychology.
Minister Kirati argued that nobody could move ahead by negating each other.
The theme of the national conference was ‘Our Campaign for Conservation of Mother Language, Values and Culture.’
