King, Queen host wedding reception of Crown Prince, Princess Rajwa

Their Majesties King Abdullah and Queen Rania Al Abdullah II Thursday hosted a wedding reception at Al Husseiniya Palace of HRH Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II and HRH Princess Rajwa Al Hussein. The ceremony was attended by members of the royal family and members of the al-Saif family, Jordanian guests, invitees and senior officials. Prince Al Hussein and Princess Rajwa Al Hussein arrived at Al Hussainiya Palace, surrounded by the red procession that accompanied them through Amman after their marriage ceremony at Zahran Palace. At the entrance to the Palace, guards lined up to greet and welcome their Highnesses. Singers Muhammad Abdo and Omar Abdallat performed a song dedicated to the occasion, while a group of Jordanian and Arabic songs, songs and folklore dances were performed. NCSC warns against fake websites offering aid ahead of Eid Al-Adha

Jordan’s National Cyber Security Center (NCSC) has issued a warning regarding fraudulent websites that falsely claim to provide financial assistance in anticipation of the upcoming Eid Al-Adha. In a post on their official social media pages on Thursday, the NCSC warned citizens against interacting or responding to such websites, emphasizing the risks of their personal information being compromised or falling victim to online scams.

Syria, Venezuela discuss means to boost relations in all fields

Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Fayssal Mikdad, received Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela for Asia, Middle East and Oceania Tatiana Pugh Moreno and the accompanying delegation Which visits Syria on the occasion of the resumption of the Venezuelan airline between Caracas and Damascus.

Talks during the meeting dealt with the bilateral relations between the two countries and the two friendly peoples, whose solid foundations were built by President Bashar al-Assad, the late leader Hugo Chávez, and later President Nicolás Maduro, and the importance of enhancing and developing them in all fields.

Minister Mikdad stressed the need to follow up on coordination between the two sides to address common challenges stemming from the attempts of Western countries to interfere in the internal affairs of independent countries and impose their dictates on them.

Mikdad reiterated Syria’s support for Venezuela.

Mikdad said that the US practices, that is stealing Syrian oil? are the same that it is doing in Venezuela in an attempt to control Venezuelan oil resources.

In turn, Moreno affirmed that resumption of the Venezuelan national airline’s flight to Damascus will constitute a new introduction to follow up on the development of bilateral relations and social ties between peoples of the two countries.

Syria and Venezuela stand by justice and respect for the sovereignty of states to reach a new world in which peace prevails, and the victory of Syria and Venezuela is a victory for all peoples of the world, Moreno added.

“Wathiqat Watan” opens door for participation in “This is My Story 2023” Competition

Wathiqat Watan (Homeland Document) Foundation has opened the door for the participation in its annual competition “This is My Story 2023” for the best realistic short story.

Organizing the competition proceeds from the visions and goals of “Wathiqat Watan” Foundation, which seek to spread awareness of the importance of people’s participation in writing history, and to access people’s stories directly in order to record the facts and details of the events they went through.

The competition also aims at integrating different age groups and segments of society into the history process by telling their stories and memories.

In a statement, the Foundation called on Syrians to write short realistic stories that they witnessed themselves, and that bear human values, in all areas of life.

The conditions of the competition include that the contestant submits one story, provided that it is has not been published before (including on social media), and the story shouldn’t have been participated in a previous version of the competition, any other competition, or other events, and the story should be presented in Arabic, written, audio-recorded, or videotaped, and the number Its words is about 1000.

It is also a condition that the story be based on realistic events that show the places and dates of its occurrence, and were witnessed by the author of the story himself, and stories based on imagination, conclusion, or transmitted from people or other sources will be excluded.

The Foundation noted that participation is open to all Syrians residing inside or outside Syria, adding that the competition is divided into four age groups, the first is under 18 years, the second category is between 19 years to 30 years, the third is from 31 years to 45 years, and the fourth category is for participants over 45 years old.

The Foundation indicated that the stories will be subject to arbitration according to criteria approved by the jury, and the winners will be announced after communicating with them, and prizes are only awarded to participants who disclose their personal data.

The number of prizes is 12, for the winning stories according to age groups, so that each category is allocated three valuable prizes (gold, silver, and bronze).

In a statement to SANA, Musa al-Khoury, Project Manager of “Wathiqat Watan” Foundation, stated that for the fifth year in a row, the Foundation is launching the “This is My Story” competition, due to its success in previous years.

Al-Khoury called on all Syrians to share their realistic stories that they lived through and were witnesses to.

The Foundation begins receiving the participating stories from the first of next June until the 31st of August 2023, and the owner of the story should send his personal information “name, surname, gender, date of birth”, a copy of his personal identity, phone number, and full address (province, city, town, village), and stories are submitted in one of the following ways:

Sousan, Moreno discuss means to boost relations binding Syria and Venezuela

Syria and Venezuela have discussed the close cooperation relations binding the two friendly countries, and ways to enhance them in various fields.

That came during a meeting that brought together Assistant Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Dr. Ayman Sousan, and Venezuelan Deputy Foreign Minister for Middle East Affairs, Tatiana Moreno, and the accompanying delegation.

Dr. Sousan stressed that the reactivation of the airline between Caracas and Damascus paves the way for increased communication between the two countries, especially at the level of economic activities, which would uplift the economic cooperation relations.

He added that the reactivation of the airline would also increase trade exchange between the two countries to confront the policy of sanctions imposed by the colonial West as a tool to impose its hegemony on countries that defend their sovereignty and national dignity, and to plunder the wealth of their peoples.

For her part, Moreno expressed high appreciation for Syria’s positions regarding the US attempts to destabilize Venezuela and the world.

She stressed Venezuela’s continued support for Syria, and the need to strengthen relations between the two countries to reach the level of the existing political relations between them.

Mikdad, Fleischer discuss WFP activities and projects in Syria

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Fayssal Mikdad, met on Thursday with Regional Director of World Food Program for the Middle East and North Africa, Corinne Fleischer and an accompanying delegation.

Talks during the meeting dealt with the activities and projects that the program is carrying out in Syria, including early recovery projects, in addition to the various developments related to the future plans of the program in line with the Syrians’ priorities and needs, in cooperation and coordination with the Syrian government and the national partners of the program in Syria.

Mikdad breifed the delegation on a number of challenges facing Syria, especially after the earthquake.

He talked about the tragic effects left by the illegal and immoral unilateral sanctions imposed on the Syrian people by Western countries, as well as the high costs of the continuation of the US occupation that loots the Syrians and deprive them of their wheat, oil and food, and the effects of that on the livelihood of the Syrians.

In this regard, Mikdad noted to the need for the UN to reject any attempts to direct, divert or politicize humanitarian aid by some donors.

Fleischer affirmed the priority of focusing on early recovery projects.
