Sunday weather: Temperatures to rise, skies partly cloudy

Temperatures will slightly rise to become from 2 to 4 degrees above average as the country is affected by a superficial low air pressure coming from the southeastern direction and accompanied by southwesterly air currents in the upper parts of atmosphere.

The skies will be clear to partly cloudy with a little opportunity for thunder showers over the western, al-Qalamoun, eastern and al-Jazeera regions, according to Sunday bulletin of Meteorological Department.

The wind will be easterly to southeasterly in the eastern and al-Jazeera regions, while it will be westerly to southwesterly in the other regions, with low to moderate speed and some active gusts, while the sea waves will be low in amplitude

In some Syrian cities, temperatures will be as follows: Damascus 27/14, Daraa 26/14, Homs 23/12, Hasaka 27/10 Tartous 25/16, Deir Ezzor 30/17.

National Earthquake Center records 17 weak tremors in 24 past hours

The National Earthquake Center announced that the stations of National Seismological Network recorded 17 weak tremors over the 24 past hours.

Nine tremors have been reported in Liwa Iskenderun ranging between 1.6 and 4.2 magnitudes on the Richter Scale and six quakes in Turkey ranging between 2.0 and 3.0 magnitudes, according to the center.

The center also reported a 2.2 magnitude quake west of Tartous, in addition to another one west of Homs
