PM witnesses signing ceremony of fund cooperation protocol on supporting disabled

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli took part on Wednesday 15/9/2021 in a signing ceremony of a charity investment fund cooperation protocol between the Ministry of Awqaf (Religious Endowment) and the Ministry of Social Solidarity to support the disabled.

Awqaf Minister Mohamed Gomaa signed the agreement for his ministry and Minister of Social Solidarity el-Nivine Kabbaj signed for her ministry.

Gomaa said the protocol comes in implementation of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives to provide all possible care to people with disabilities and out of the ministry’s keenness on serving civil society and integrating citizens with disabilities in their surroundings.

As per the agreement, the Awqaf Ministry will channel EGP 50 million of its resources in support of the fund, Gomaa said.

For her part, the minister of social solidarity said her ministry will be in charge of directing the allocated sum as needed, in line with a plan devised in this respect.

She noted that ATAA Charitable Fund for the disabled is the first open investment charity fund to operate in line with money market policies, with the aim of investing revenues to support institutions for people with disabilities in the various domains, including the health, education and training spheres to further help merge them into the community.

PPC revenues up to EGP 2.8 bln: Petroleum Ministry

Petroleum Pipelines Company (PPC ) on Tuesday 14/9/2021 revealed that nearly 60 million tons of crude oil, petroleum products and condensates as well as butane gas were transported during Fiscal Year (FY) 2020/2021.

Almost 28 million tons are crude oil, condensates and about 31.8 million tons are petroleum products, and buatne, with revenues estimated at nearly 2.8 billion Egyptian pounds, marking a 12% increase, compared to the past year, added the PPC.

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tareq el Mulla said in remarks to the General Assembly of the PPC, held to approve results of the FY 2020/2021 that the positive results of the petroleum sector were attributed to political stability and the superb economic performance in the country, despite challenges posed by Covid-19 pandemic globally.

The petroleum sector is making firm strides to up investments and upgrade its main infrastructure in line with the sustainable development goals as per Egypt vision 2030, according to a statement by the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources.

Mulla underlined the importance of carrying out digital transformation in running petroleum activities within the framework of development and modernization projects nationwide.

Sisi: We continue coordination with different Libyan sides until elections

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi asserted that Egypt would continue its coordination with all Libyan sides concerned during the coming period until the parliamentary and presidential elections are held in December.

Sisi’s comments came during his meeting on Tuesday with Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives Aqila Saleh and Commander of the Libyan National Army Khalifa Haftar, in the presence of General Intelligence Service (GIS) Chief Abbas Kamel, said Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady.

The meeting addressed the latest developments in the Libyan arena, especially in light of Cairo’s firm stance on the necessity of achieving Libya’s stability, which is seen as part and parcel of Egypt’s security and stability, the spokesman added.

On their part, Saleh and Haftar highly praised Egypt’s role to help resolve the Libyan crisis, expressing his esteem for its strenous efforts to support Libyans in managing the transitional period, as well as its contribution to uniting the Libyan army, the spokesman noted.

The two Libyan officials asserted that they agreed with the Egyptian leadership on the necessity of holding the parliamentary and presidential elections before the end of 2021, while moving ahead with efforts to strengthen national security and kick out all mercenaries and foreign troops from Libyan soil.

Sisi, DR Congo president discuss cooperation issues

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received on Tuesday a phone call from DR Congo President Felix Tshisekedi, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said.

The two leaders discussed a number of cooperation issues and exchanged views on a number of African issues of mutual interest.

Hailing the close relations and cooperation with Egypt, Tshisekedi affirmed his country’s keenness to foster bilateral trade exchange and economic ties.

Meanwhile, Sisi hailed the qualitative leap which relations have witnessed at the political and economic levels, a matter which was clear in the investment cooperation between the two sides, particularly in the domains of infrastructure, digital transformation, construction, energy, and water.
