A 4.4 MAGNITUDE EARTHQUAKE HITS HAKKARI, EASTERN TURKEY

This morning, an earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale struck Hakkari, eastern Turkey, and local authorities have not yet announced whether the earthquake caused human or material losses, according to “Russia Today.”

The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Department, AFAD, announced that the earthquake occurred at 07:36 (+3 GMT) at a depth of 5.7 kilometers, and its epicenter was in Yuksak Ufa district.

It is noteworthy that a few days ago, millions of Turks across the country commemorated the loss of more than 53,000 friends, relatives and neighbors in the devastating earthquake that struck the country a year ago, specifically on February 6 last year.
