Zayed Prize an impetus for bright young minds
“To commend, reward and encourage such children is the driving force behind The Zayed Future Energy Prize, that has turned into a magnet for attracting the best young ideas for sustainability”, said Dubai-based ‘Gulf News’ in an editorial comment today.
It continued, “This year’s five winning schools, as well as the remaining five finalists, presented projects being undertaken at their respective schools, contributing to the shrinkage of global carbon footprint.” “Every endeavour, big and small, is required to achieve this gigantic task and these young minds, who possess an extraordinary vision to initiate changes in their domain, are tomorrow’s innovators and leaders. From providing inexpensive electricity to homes of their underprivileged peers, harnessing solar power in some of the poorest school precincts of the world, replacing electricity with LED to framing green roofs for their school building, the winners of the Zayed Prize are ensuring that tomorrow’s world need not wait for adult vision alone to shape it”.
