WAM DUBAI, 5th February, 2014 (WAM) –The TRA’s mGovernment Initiative has launched today the first phase of implementing the Trusted Service Manager (TSM) project in the UAE through hosting a number of related workshops.
These workshops will be held over a period of one week, at its headquarters in Dubai in collaboration with the Prime Minister’s Office, Emirates Identity Authority, Ministry of Finance and the two licensees Etisalat and du .
This is one of the most important phases of the TSM project because it serves as a strategic step that contributes in unifying all partners’ efforts. It also gives us the opportunity to tackle all the issues and challenges that we might face before starting the actual implementation of the project, said Tariq Al Hawi, head of the advisory committee of the mGovernment initiative at TRA.
These workshops witnessed a high level of interaction and gained great momentum, where attendees shared their insights and expertise each according to their field of work. The workshops discussed and tackled all topics and issues related to the mGovernment Transformation project. The participants have shown great interest and seriousness, reflecting their complete readiness to coordinate and contribute to this national initiative as the TSM project is a main pillar of the mGovernment Transformation Project, he added.
This step complements the previous efforts in implementing the TSM Project, which have led to the formation of the Trusted Service Manager unit headed by TRA in collaboration with the Central Bank of the U.A.E., Ministry of Justice, National Electronic Security Authority, Ministry of Cabinet Affairs, Emirates Identity Authority, Ministry of Finance, the two licensees Etisalat and du and other entities participating in the workshops referred to above.
