MUSCAT: The sultanate’s delegation to the 27th Ship for World Youth Program (SWY) recently held a two-day meeting at the Sultan Qaboos Sport Complex in Bausher under the patronage of Ministry of Sports Affairs and Omani Association of Ship for World Youth.
A press release stated that the exchange programme will be organised by the Japanese government from January 21 to February 13 next year.
During the two-day event, Adil bin Ahmed al Shanfari, the head of sultanate’s delegation discussed several issues concerning the event with former participants of SWY.
The delegation discussed issues like education, voluntary work, information and media,
social entrepreneurship and cross cultural understanding. ‘Members of the delegation also exchanged ideas about the sultanate’s presentation on board the ship.’
SWY programme involves youths from Japan and countries around the world.
The participants board the Ship for World Youth, live together, and while on board, they study and discuss common issues from a global perspective and participate in activities that involve multi-cultural and multi-national exchange opportunities.
