SUDANESE PRESIDENT HEADS FOR MOSCOW FRIDAY FOR VISIT TO RUSSIA

KHARTOUM, President Omer Al-Bashir leaves here Frida for an official visit to Russia where he will hold talks with President Vladimir Putin on the state of bilateral relations and ways of boosting them further.

The talks between the two heads of state will focus on the economic relations, establishing a strategic partnership for development, enhancement of the joint co-operation in the political and economic fields, increasing investment opportunities, especially the in the areas of agriculture and power and implementation of the Russia�supported programme of modernization of the Sudanese army .

President Al-Bashir will attend on the sidelines of the visit the final of the FIFA World Cup on Sunday, along with 25 other heads of state and government, at the invitation of President Putin.

The President will be accompanied on the trip by the Deputy Chairman of the Higher Committee for Sudanese Relations with BRICS Countries, Dr Awad Ahmed Al-Jaz, the Minister in the Presidency, Dr Fadul Abdalla Fadul, the Defence Minister Lieutenant-General Awad Ibn Auf and the State Minister and Director of the President’s Office, Hatim Hassan Bakhit.
