SUDAN PAYS SPECIAL CONCERN TO STRENGTHENING TIES WITH NEIGHBOURS, SAYS PRESIDENT
KHARTOUM, President Omer Al-Bashir says Sudan has paid special concern to strengthening its relations with neighboring countries.
Addressing the National Legislature here Monday, President Al-Bashir said Sudan had employed diplomacy through the Presidency for achieving a qualitative progress in relations with Egypt on the bases of clarity, transparency and exchanged interests, guaranteeing the national sovereignty and non-intervention in the internal affairs.
He added that Sudan had also continued with efforts for enhancing relations with Chad and the Central African Republic (CAR) through joint efforts for maintaining security at their common border areas.
President Al-Bashir said Sudan had determined its unshakable position on support to the immediate cessation of the inhuman war in South Sudan, stressing the importance of finding a solution to the differences through serious dialogue under the umbrella of the Inteer-Governetal Authority on Development (IGAD) and the African Union (AU).
He indicated that Sudan had launched an initiative for establishing an economic grouping of countries in the Horn of Africa, explaining that a summit in this connection would be held by the end of April 2018.
President Al-Bashir also pointed to successful endeavours of presidential diplomacy and visits by him and his two deputies for building strategic relations with China, Russia and Turkey.
