KHARTOUM, Sudanese Minister of International Co-operation Idris Sulaiman has held discussions here with the Indonesian Ambassador in Khartoum, Dr. Rosales Adnan, regarding economic and developmental issues of mutual interest and ways to boost bilateral co-operation in these areas.

The Minister said when the ambassador called on him at his office here Monday that Indonesia was recognized as a developed country in Asia which had been able to use its resources within a short period of time for the benefit of its people.

He called on Sudanese bodies concerned to benefit from the accumulated experience of Indonesia in the agricultural, training and industrial fields.

The Minister briefed the Indonesian diplomat Sudan’s agricultural, animal and mineral potentials and invited Indonesian companies to invest in these fields, establish effective partnerships with Sudanese businessmen through the establishment of the bilateral Joint Businessmen Council and exchange experiences.

The ambassador affirmed that the relations between Sudan and Indonesia are historical and deep-rooted, adding that Sudan had investment opportunities which can be exploited by Indonesian businessmen. He stressed Indonesia’s desire to invest in the areas of agriculture, livestock and minerals in Sudan.
