MUSCAT: Shakil ‘Star’ Malik, musician turned social worker and peace and friendship envoy for Pakistan and India, blazed into Oman recently on his Honda CR-V on a ‘Peace Driveathon’.

Malik has driven through 13 countries in Europe and six countries in the GCC in his trusty 2.4lt. Honda SUV which he calls his ‘Peacemobile’.

As his 19th country, Star Malik stopped in the sultanate and Omasco was delighted to give his CR-V a full service to ensure he enjoyed the journey to its optimum. Malik said, “My trusty CR-V and I have covered around 35,000 miles together and it’s been a pleasure travelling in such a safe and comfortable vehicle. As we enter the final phase of our journey together it is a real gift to receive a full and intricate service from the Honda team here in Oman. I am a huge Honda fan and the CR-V model has been the perfect companion on my trip.”

Honda staff and customers were delighted to meet Malik. Talking of Malik’s visit to Oman, Omasco spokesperson said, “We happy that Star Malik chose a Honda CR-V for his journey in promoting peace. This man has devoted so much of his time to this worthy cause, he is a true hero. Like the CRV he drives he is a powerhouse in the field of leading change and we know that he will journey through the highways and byways to complete his mission.”
