SEPTEMBER 3, 2014 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Former President Michel Sleiman said the military hostages file must be given the required concern and attention and must be “kept away from any political polarization, as the issue means all Lebanese without exceptions.”
He assured that the government was pressing its efforts to solve the issue and receive back the hostages in accordance with the high national interest and laws that secure the state’s prestige.
Sleiman renewed his call for electing a president as soon as possible, explaining that the presidential elections are “the key to solving all pending political, constitutional, security and economic problems in the country.”
Sleiman met today at his residence with the Sports and Youth Minister, Abdul Mottalib Hanawi, the French ambassador Patrice Paoli and others.
