Second phase of Zayed City in Afghanistan opened

WAM Kabul, 19 Dec. 2012 (WAM) — UAE Ambassador to Afghanistan Yousef Saif Al Ali inaugurated the second phase of the Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan City for Disabled Persons.

Funded by the UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) and supervised Afghanistan Development Assistance Committee (DAC), the second phase of the 200 house city features a network of internal roads, a mosque that can accommodate up to 1000 worshippers, two schools for girls and boys each can take 750 students and a clinic.

The UAE ambassador said in remarks during the opening that the city is part of UAE’s development and humanitarian project in Afghanistan.

The project, he added, embodies the fraternal ties between the two countries and their peoples.
