Rifi after visiting Deryan; We won’t spare efforts to free our sons

SEPTEMBER 3, 2014 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Justice Minister, Ashraf Rifi, assured that the government won’t spare any effort to help release the Lebanese soldiers, “our sons.”

Rifi on Wednesday visited the new Mufti of the Republic, Sheikh Abdul Latif Deryan.

Rifi said there was no exchange deal in this concern, but a crisis cell headed by PM Tammam Salam that “is working with full responsibility, transparency and visionary to serve the national interest.”

“Of course we won’t forsake our children, we won’t spare any effort to secure their release and return to their parents and families safely,” said Rifi.

Turning to the subject of the Islamists at Roumieh, Rifi said he requested the judges to haste to try the arrested individuals as it could not be accepted to keep their judicial files pending for a long time.

As for the local security situation, Rifi called for boosting national unity and unifying local rows in order to “surpass the current situation with minimal damages.”
