KHARTOUM, Sudanese President Omer Al-Bashir says peace in neighbouring South Sudan will have a positive bearing on peace and stability on two states in Sudan, namely Blue Nile State and South Kordofan State..
He pointed out Sunday that peace peace in Sudan itself was now closer than ever, while affirming the government’s keenness to remove all the reasons which have made people hold arms to defend themselves.
Addressing the youth wing of the ruling National Congress party here, the president said stability and peace that had also been achieved in states in the Darfur region of western Sudan, a development which had been witnessed and monitored by the international community.
He referred to the gradual exit of the United Nations-African Union Mission in Dafur (UNAMID) forces from Darfur after all the reasons for its existence had ceased, asserting that life in Darfur will return to its normal course.
