NMC and Emirates Palace host media delegation joining National Day celebrations

WAM Abu Dhabi, Dec 4th, 2012 (WAM) — Emirates Palace hotel in collaboration with the National Media Council (NMC) hosted Arab and foreign media delegations participating in the UAE’s 41st National Day celebrations.

A lavish dinner was thrown away here at the Emirates Palace in honor of 65 media delegates, who were invited by NMC from 26 Arab and other countries.

Burga Berberoglu, the Hotel General Manger said: “Emirates Palace is honoured to receive such a large number of media representatives, and they will return home with good memories about the UAE,” which is “One of the most developed nations” and the Emirates Palace which is “one of the best hotels in the world.” On his part, Ibrahim Al Abed, Director General of the National Media Council (NMC) thanked Emirates Palace for hosting the media representatives and for organising a tour for them through the hotel’s various sections, including miniature replicas of the Sheikh Zayed National Museum, the Louvre and Guggenheim Museum.

“These museums, being set up on Saadiyat Island are a source of pride for Abu Dhabi and the entire UAE because they represent a symbol of tourism and cultural development in the country and will be a major destination for tourists from all over the world,” Al Abed said.

He added that this positive cooperation with the Emirates Palace would surely bolster NMC’s efforts in promoting the National Day celebrations inside and outside the UAE.

The journalist toured hotel’s various sections, rooms, suites and halls. They were briefed on the programme of the National Day ceremonies, starting on Saturday and continuing for a full week to highlight the cultural diversity of the country.

The journalists expressed pleasure to visit the UAE and be guests at Emirates Palace, with many of them describing it as a key local and global tourism attraction destination. The delegates also visited the hotel’s nearly 40 conference halls, including one that has 1,100 seats and can accommodate over 2,400 persons.

Emirates Palace, which was built a few years ago, stretches nearly 1.3 km on Abu Dhabi’s coast and has nearly 100 hectares of green spots. The hotel has around 384 rooms and suites as well as luxury restaurants, some of which have won international awards.
