MUSCAT: National Bank of Oman’s (NBO) Academy of Excellence, the training arm of the bank recently, conducted Hayyakom programme to welcome and induct new employees.

During the programme, 20 new employees from across the NBO were provided with a detailed insight into the key rights, responsibilities and obligations of the bank.

The bank’s new vision and core values and information on its history and senior management were also shared with the new staff members.

Nasser al Hajri, chief human resource officer, NBO said, “At NBO, we believe that it is important for new employees to be comfortable in their working environment, as well as building a long-lasting bond with other team members.

“The Hayyakom programme, along with each individual’s specific role-focussed training, provides the perfect platform for launching the career on the right note and helps newcomers understand what is required to achieve the high-level of success that the bank expects.”

One of the participants said, “The Hayyakom induction programme was a great way to start my time at NBO and it will help me immensely in my new role. The one-day programme has been very helpful to learn about the bank while also being introduced to co-workers from different divisions of the business. I look forward to the next Academy of Excellence training session as I continue my career development.”

The Academy of Excellence offers a series of technical and behavioural workshops and courses to equip the bank’s employees with the relevant knowledge and skills to ensure that it stays ahead of its competitors across all divisions.
