Doha, September 22 (QNA) – The Official page of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) on Facebook won the award best interactive platform 2012, ministries websites category, in the contest organized by the Arab Organization for Administrative Development (AOAD) and the pan- Arab Awards Academy.
The trophy (3rd .Gov Web Award) and the certificate of merit were received by the MOI Public Relations Director, Colonel Abdullah Khalifa Al-Muftah at a ceremony organized in Egypt’s Red Sea Resort of Sharm- El Sheikh, and attended by IT and communication specialists, economists and scholars from different Arab Countries.
On the sidelines of the ceremony, a discussion panel was held on the role of social media in the Arab governments and its importance in the direct communication between government officials and the public.
The contest, included several categories including best strategic governmental website, best Arab governments social networking page and the best companies in the development and design of websites.
The award is a culmination of the remarkable and considerable efforts the MoI has exerted during the last period, in developing and modernizing its website and creating profile pages on social networking sites.
MoI’s pages on the Internet have seen continuous development and update, and its interactive and social pages succeeded in attracting a large number of public. (QNA)
