Mohammed bin Rashid orders renaming Al Thuraya Street in Dubai after Abdullah Omran Taryam

WAM DUBAI, 4th February, 2014 (WAM) –Vice president, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has ordered to rename Al Thuraya Street after the late Abdullah Omran Taryam.

Sheikh Mohammed’s order is in recognition for Abdullah Taryam’s dedication, patriotic contributions, pioneering role in the establishment of United Arab Emirates and his sincere devotion in all the public positions he occupied as Minister of Justice and Minister of Education; moreover, his significant role in leading the cultural movement in the UAE and his participation in boosting the pillars of GCC media and journalism as one of Al Khaleej Newspaper’s founders.

Abdullah Omran Taryam Street, is a six- kilometre long road with two lanes. It passes through Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone. It starts from Umm Suqeim Street, near Dubai Police Academy and parallel to Al Safooh Street, to the downtown of Dubai Media City. The Abdullah Omran Taryam crosses Sheikh Zayed Road towards the Greens and ends at Al Khail Road at the entrance of Jebel Ali Horse Race Track.

Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority said that the RTA will implement Sheikh Mohammed’s directives immediately and will replace all the signs during the few coming days.
