WAM ABU DHABI, 11th February, 2014 (WAM) — His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the U.A.E. Armed Forces, received today the visiting Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces, Lt. General Sidqi Subhi, at Al Mamoura.
Sheikh Mohamed and Lt. General Subhi reviewed appropriate ways of enhancing brotherly bilateral ties for the best interest of the two countries and their people. Discussions also covered joint military cooperation and coordination, and exchange of expertise and visits.
The two sides affirmed the depth of bilateral relations and their commitment to furthering them in all domains for the service of mutual interests. They also stressed the importance of pursuing efforts of building and development to ensure a more prosperous and progressive future for Egypt.
The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and the Egyptian military commander also took stock of the latest regional and international developments and exchanged views on matters of common concern.
Mohammed Ahmed Al Bawardi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, Lt. General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the U.A.E. Armed Forces, a number of senior civilian and military officials, and members of the delegation accompanying the Egyptian chief of staff were also present at the meeting.
