SEPTEMBER 3, 2014 (REFERRING TO THE NATIONAL NEWS AGENCY – LEBANON) Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Nohad Mashnouq, on Wednesday met at his office in the Ministry with Spanish Ambassador to Lebanon, Milagros Hernando, with talks featuring high on the security situation prevailing in the country, in light on the latest developments in the region.
The Minister has discussed the current general situation in Lebanon and in Bekaa in particular with Zahle MPs bloc, comprising lawmakers Antoine Abu Khater, Shant Janjanian, Joseph Maalouf, Elie Marouni, and Assem Araji.
“We tackled an array of affairs relevant to the critical security situation in Lebanon in general and in Bekaa in particular. The sons of Bekaa are keen that security remains under the umbrella of the security forces and the army,” Abu Khater said, spurning any talk about self-imposed security.
Mashnouq later met with former Deputy Karim Rassi over the situation in the north on the political and security levels.
He also received former lawmaker Mansour Albone with whom he discussed affairs relevant to Kesserwan region.
