KUWAIT, April 24 — Expatriates caught driving without licences would face immediate deportation as of Thursday (April 23) due to traffic safety reasons, the Ministry of Interior said.
The decision came in line with the traffic law and executive bylaw, said a statement by the Ministry’s Security Media Department.
It aims at curbing the phenomenon of expatriates driving without valid licences, posing hazardous threats to themselves and others on roads.
The statement referred to the move as a preventive measure that seeks in the first place to guarantee full commitment to state laws and systems.
It stressed seriousness by the concerned security and traffic bodies about implementing the decision.
