Manama: The Saudi Development Fund (SDF) and the Arabian Gulf University (AGU) have today signed a key agreement on financing the construction the King Abdulla Medical City in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The signing ceremony was attended by Saudi Ambassador to Bahrain His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Supreme Council for Health (SCH) President Lieutenant-General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa, Education Minister, Higher Education Council President Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi and Health Minister Faeqa bint Said Al-Saleh.
SDF Vice Chairman and Managing Director Dr. Dr. Khalid Bin Sulaiman Al-Khudairi signed the deal along with AGU President Dr. Khalid bin Abdulrahman Al-Ohali.
The signing of the agreement signals the start of the construction of the 30-month-long project which was awarded to the Al-Fawazan Construction Company. The state of the art King Abdulla Medical City Hospital is expected to be operational by the beginning of 2022.
