The event is organised by the Khalifa Fund and sponsored by the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority and ICT Fund, and aims to encourage Emirati youth and urge them to innovate and create in the Information Technology sector and design smart applications in the tourism sector.
“The unique thing about this year’s Ibtikari event is the cooperation between the Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority and the ICT Fund. The success of such initiatives comes as a result of the comprehension cooperation between different entities. We believe that the ICT sector is a promising sector for investment despite the high level of competition from international companies, and we hope that this event will result in quality ideas that can be converted to commercial projects that serve the national economy”, said Abdullah Saeed Al Darmaki, Chief Executive Officer of the Khalifa Fund.
“We are very pleased to be part of this fruitful collaboration with other entities to work on improving the tourism sector which is growing rapidly. The number of tourists and the number of tourism, cultural and entertainment venues are increasing very quickly. We work on a long term strategy in which we are trying to attract more qualified Emiratis to work in this sector, and at the same time we are working on engaging the best technology practices to assist the growth of this sector”, said Sultan Al Dhaheri, Acting Director of Tourism Sector in the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority.
