KAZAKHSTAN EMBASSY’S MEET ON RELIGIOUS TOLERANCE HELD

MUSCAT: A conference on religious tolerance in Kazakhstan was held by the Kazakhstan Embassy, for ambassadors of Asian countries and professors of Sultan Qaboos University, at InterContinental Muscat on Sunday.

The meet was titled ‘Tolerance and Inter-religious Consent in Kazakhstan’.

H E Yerzhan Mukash, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Oman, said, “Kazakhstan is a country of diversity and tolerance. There are people of more than 130 nationalities, and they include people from Germany and Korea as well. There are various faiths but people live in harmony.”

He further said, “The president of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev is a global leader on nuclear nonproliferation and global security, and he has become a model for other countries by giving up nuclear weapons programmes.”
