KUWAIT, April 17 – Kuwait has distinguished itself in the field of humanitarian aid, alleviating the sufferings of many people as a result of wars or natural catastrophes, said visiting head of the Iran-Kuwait Parliamentary Friendship Group, Ahamad Ariayi Nejad on Thursday.

In a press statement, after the Friendship Group’s meeting with head and board members of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS), Nejad said Kuwait was at the vanguard of nations in humanitarian work, seeking to bring relief aid to people worldwide.

He praised efforts of the KRCS both regionally and internationally and said his talks with its board members and with its chairman Dr.Hilal Al-Sayer were constructive and fruitful.

Nejad said the talks also focused on means of cooperation between KRCS and the Iranian Red Crescent Society in the field of humanitarian work.

Furthermore, he affirmed his country’s keenness on developing strong political and economic relations with Kuwait.

On his part, Dr. Al-Sayer, welcomed the Group’s visit to KRCS, and noted that KRCS was contemplating to implement humanitarian aid plans for Yemen, including next Saturday’s donation drive for Yemeni people to be launched at the headquarters of KRCS.

He said that all the humanitarian relief aid carried out by the KRCS was at the behest and blessings of the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
