MUSCAT: The fifth Infra Oman exhibition will help improve the efficiency on infrastructure projects in the sultanate, said Dr Rasheed al Huraibi, chairman of Tender Board. He said this after inaugurating the exhibition at the Oman International Exhibition Centre on Monday.

Dr Huraibi said, “The exhibition shows the importance of the investment environment in Oman and also the new technologies which I’ve seen that will help us improve the efficiency on projects.”

The opening ceremony was held in the presence of government representatives, developers and consultants in industries related to construction, green buildings, heavy equipment, tools, transportation and logistics, waste management, and power and renewable energy. More than 200 companies are taking part in the exhibition.

Some of the countries that are participating in the exhibition include Iran, the UK, Indonesia, Turkey and India.

Salim al Hashmi, chairman, Al Nimr Expo, which is organising the event said, “Infra Oman is the ideal platform for all contractors and developers to meet, thus giving them an opportunity to present their projects and achievements and source their requirements. It has grown significantly since its inception in 2011, thus establishing itself as the Middle East’s leading infrastructure and industrial exhibition.”

Jenitha Martin, managing director for exhibitions, Al Nimr, said the event offers a good networking opportunity. “The event is meant to provide local and international companies the opportunity to introduce their products, equipment, technologies, concepts and services to their target clients which also includes decision-makers and top officials of companies in Oman’s vibrant building and construction industry. It will also be a complete solution provider to the exhibitors and the visitors in the construction sector.”

The exhibition is supported by the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources and Muscat Municipality.
