Manama: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, today received the Chief Executive of Citigroup, Michael Corbat, at Gudaiybia Palace.
During the meeting, HRH stressed that the Kingdom continues to embrace the development of financial technology and nurture an environment conducive to further creativity and innovation within the banking and financial sector.
HRH added that Bahrain is committed to diversifying its national economy and investing in various sectors, in line with the Kingdom’s comprehensive development efforts led by HM King Hamad.
HRH highlighted the progress made in advancing Bahrain’s information technology ecosystem, commenting that these efforts make Bahrain a favourable destination for investment, especially in the banking and financial sector, creating high quality opportunities for the Kingdom’s citizens.
For his part, the Chief Executive of Citigroup expressed his thanks and appreciation to HRH for his support developing the banking and financial services sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
HE Shaikh Mohamed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Oil and HE Rasheed Al Maraj, Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain, were also in attendance.
