HRH the Crown Prince receives President of Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities

Manama: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander, and First Deputy Prime Minister, today received the President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), Her Excellency Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, at Gudaibiya Palace.

During the meeting, HRH the Crown Prince extended his congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad, on the occasion of Bahrain and the ‘Revitalization of Muharraq’ project receiving the 2019 Aga Khan Award for Architecture. HRH the Crown Prince noted the award reflects BACA’s relentless efforts in preserving Bahrain’s historical heritage and marks another successful achievement under the Kingdom’s comprehensive development, led by HM the King.

HRH the Crown Prince highlighted the Kingdom’s rich authentic cultural heritage, commenting how its legacy and inspirational role contributes so importantly to the cultural development of Bahrain. HRH the Crown Prince stressed further the importance of preserving the Kingdom’s cultural heritage for future generations to come.

HE Shaikha Mai gave a presentation outlining the Kingdom’s achievement in receiving the award for the ‘Revitalization of Muharraq’ project, announced earlier today in Kazan, Russia. In this regard, HRH the Crown Prince praised the vital efforts made by HE which led to Bahrain receiving this award, a contribution to the continued international recognition of Bahrain’s cultural heritage.

For her part, HE Shaikha Mai expressed gratitude for the opportunity to meet HRH the Crown Prince. HE stressed how the continued support provided by HRH the Crown Prince was a vital contribution to receiving this award. HE Shaikha Mai further reiterated BACA’s continued commitment to preserving the Kingdom’s authentic heritage.

The Minister of Finance and National Economy, HE Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa also attended the meeting.
