HRH the Crown Prince receives newly-appointed CEO of Standard Chartered Bank Bahrain

Manama: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, today received the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) Bahrain, Abdulla Abdulrazaq Bukhowa, the SCB’s Senior Business Advisor, Abdulrahman Buchiri, and Hamad Buchiri, at Gudaibiya Palace.

During the meeting, HRH the Crown Prince highlighted the Kingdom’s commitment to further strengthening the role of the business and finance sectors, as they continue to play an important role in supporting Bahrain’s sustainable development goals, in line with HM the King’s vision. HRH the Crown Prince also highlighted the sectors’ contributions to the national economy through the provision of quality opportunities for citizens.

HRH the Crown Prince congratulated Bukhowa on his appointment as the first Bahraini to take up the post of Chief Executive Officer of Standard Chartered Bank Bahrain, and wished him continued success in his line of work.

HRH the Crown prince went on to praise the skillset and competencies of the Kingdom’s national workforce, and their contributions to the Kingdom’s wide-ranging development.

HRH the Crown Prince noted the Kingdom’s commitment to supporting technological advances within the banking and finance sector, which have a positive impact on enhancing the Kingdom’s competitiveness and reinforcing its position as a main hub for banking and finance globally.

For his part, the CEO of Standard Chartered Bank Bahrain expressed gratitude for the opportunity to meet HRH the Crown Prince, and highlighted HRH the Crown Prince’s support and commitment to further developing the Kingdom’s banking and finance sector.

The Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain, HE Rasheed Al Maaraj, and the Minister of Finance and National Economy, HE Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, also attended the meeting.
