London, July 20 (QNA) – HE Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Ghaith bin Mubarak Al Kuwari inaugurated today the “founder” mosque in London.
The mosque is located next to the medical annex of Qatar Embassy in central London and can accommodate up to 400 worshipers. It is built on an area of 250 square meters and includes the Imam’s residence and another for the guard, as well as vital facilities.
HE the Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs lauded during his Friday sermon at the mosque the gesture of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani who donated the fund to build the mosque in the benefit of Muslims in London.
He pointed to the coincidence of the opening of the mosque with the holy month of Ramadan.
The opening ceremony was attended by HE Qatar’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom Khalid bin Rashid Al Mansouri and a number of GCC ambassadors. (QNA)
