Tokyo, September 28 (QNA) – HE Qatar’s Ambassador to Japan Yousef Bin Mohammed Bilal has described ‘Qatar Week: Ferjaan in Tokyo’ as a nice event, especially as it came within the Qatar-Japan 2012 festive to mark the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Qatar and Japan, and is being held after two years of great effort to ensure a successful event.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), HE the Ambassador lauded Qatar Museums Authority, institutions and companies that made this painstaking effort, and praised the Japanese side for his help in all phases of preparation for the event. “Everyone has contributed and helped much in making this event a success,” he said, adding that the diversity witnessed in the Qatar Week activities have a positive impact in the success and effectiveness of the event.
He added that the Heritage Village reflected modern Qatari culture through a historically accurate representation, underlining that the Japanese people are open minded and love other cultures. The Japanese people, he said, attach great respect for the State of Qatar’s government and people due to the strong and distinctive relations with Japan, especially after HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani’s decision to donate, on behalf of the Government and people of the State of Qatar, $100 million as Qatar’s contribution to relief efforts for the victims of the devastating earthquake that hit Japan in 2011, which caused thousands of deaths and displaced persons and inflicted enormous material losses.
