Tokyo, September 28 (QNA) – HE Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Attiyah, the Chairman of the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority and the Chairman of Qatar-Japan Joint Higher Committee, attended today a banquet organized by Doha Film Institute as part of the ongoing Qatar Week: Ferjaan in Tokyo.
The ceremony was attended by a number of ambassadors and heads of GCC and Arab diplomatic missions accredited to Japan in addition to senior officials of Doha Film Institute.
Issa Mohammed Al Mohannadi, Deputy Chairman of Doha Tribeca Film Festival and Chairman of Qatar Tourism Authority said, “On behalf of HE Chairperson of Doha Film Institute Sheikha Al Mayassa Bint Hamad Al Thani, I would like to welcome all of you to this unique evening and thank you for joining us in this ceremony held in honor of HE Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah.”
Al Mohannadi lauded the efforts of HE Al Attiyah in enhancing the relationship between Qatar and Japan, which since its inception resulted in creating numerous strategic partnerships in trade and business and enhanced cultural ties between both countries, adding that the organization of Qatar Week: Ferjaan in Tokyo is a good example.
Al Mohannadi said that the Doha Film Institute, in collaboration with the Qatar Museums Authority, the Museum of Islamic Art and the Japanese Embassy in Qatar, introduced Japanese culture through the presentation of a series of classic and contemporary Japanese films in Doha.
He added that Doha Film Institute will showcase two films: Hala’ La Wain? (Where Do We Go Now?) by Lebanese director Nadine Labaki and Sea Shadow by UAE director Nawaf Al Janahi.
The event was attended by HE Qatar’s Ambassador to Japan Yousef Bin Mohammad Bilal and the delegation accompanying HE the Chairman of the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority. (QNA)
