CANBERRA, Australia, Jan 12 – Goalkeepers’ coach of Kuwait national football team, Ahmad Dashti, reaffirmed today (Monday), readiness of goalkeepers for tomorrow’s encounter against South Korea, as part of Group A of the 16th AFC Cup.
Dashti told KUNA that, special training is underway for the goalies, focusing on techniques of blocking midfield breakthroughs and intercepting long balls; all of which mastered by the South Koreans.
The Wednesday match is the second for the Blue jerseys, after their loss against host Australia, in the opening match 4-1, while the South Korean team beat Oman 1-0.
Kuwait and Oman will meet on Jan 17 in Newcastle.
16 teams are competing in the 23-day tournament, which is held across the five venues of Sydney, Newcastle, Brisbane, Canberra and Melbourne, from Jan 9-31.
