Ramallah – together – President Mahmoud Abbas received, on Tuesday evening, a phone call from the High Representative for the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Joseph Borrell.
Borrell stressed the position of the European Union in support of international legitimacy and a two-state solution based on the 1967 borders, continuing to work for peace and supporting the building of Palestinian institutions.
In turn, the President thanked the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy for the important statement issued this afternoon, in which he stressed the need to work on building a just and lasting peace, expressing his concern about the statements that talk about annexing the Jordan Valley and parts of the West Bank, and that the European Union He does not recognize control over the territories occupied in 67, confirming the continued search for a just solution in accordance with the two-state solution and international legitimacy.
The President affirmed the commitment of the Palestinian side to a two-state solution, international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab peace initiative, and that the Palestinian side will act on the basis of this rule.
The President informed him that he would go to the Security Council on 11 November to deliver an important speech and explain the Palestinian position.
During the call, it was agreed to continue the communication between the two sides.
