ADDIS ABABA, Diplomats from the Angolan Embassy in Ethiopia here have returned to Addis Ababa from Darfur, Sudan, after participating in an African Union (AU) Peace and Security Council (PSC) mission to assess the activities of the AU Mission in Dafur (UNAMID), especially its ongoing reconfiguration.
This mission followed a recent separate one to South Sudan. Angola is expected to take over as Chair of the PSC in September 2018.
Angola is currently its third term in the PSC following its election to sit on the body at the 30th Ordinary Session of the Summit of heads of AU State and Government Addis Ababa in january, 2018.
The PSC comprises Angola, the democratic republic of Congo (DRC), Djibouti, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Kenya, Liberia, Morocco, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Togo, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
