Dubai: Emirates Post has started renting out spaces in post offices to companies, as part of a move to offer more services to its customers.
Since the launch of the new strategy from early this year, a number of companies have already launched their operations from the post offices, including some banks, travel agencies and business centres.
Many other companies are in the process of signing up for the rented spaces in post offices, including banks that are keen to open their ATMs.
“Private companies that sign up with Emirates Post will be governed by a set of rules,” said Ibrahim Bin Karam, Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates Post Group. “Emirates Post seeks to widen the basket of services available to our customers by signing up with private companies.” The companies operating from post offices will follow the same working hours as the post offices. Most post offices are open from 8 am to 9 pm; however a few are open only up to 3 pm. The private companies are required to follow these timings.
“We are witnessing a strong demand for the spaces in post offices. However, we are selective in deciding the type of businesses that would be allowed to operate from our premises. Each applicant is considered on a case-by-case basis,” added Bin Karam.
Companies wishing to lease spaces in post offices should contact the Commercial Department of Emirates Post Group located at the Deira Main Post Office Building.
