KHARTOUM, Egypt and Sudan have agreed to promote and develop strategic relations in all cooperative domains.
“Both countries have agreed to promote relations in economic, trade, security and military fields, to wipe out all obstacles to the movement of individuals and cargo and to launch two-way power grid and railways,” Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir said at a joint press conference with visiting Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi.
Bashir added that concerned ministers have been instructed to put all relevant directives in place according to timetables.
On his part, the Egyptian president said both sides plan to coordinate in a more effective mode, and seek to serve mutual interests in all realms.
However, he said, there is still a long way to go in order to attain cooperation in a way that fulfills the expectations of both neighbors’ people.
The Egyptian president arrived in Khartoum earlier on Thursday on a two-day official visit.
