MANSOURI RECEIVES “REGIE” DIRECTOR GENERAL

Acting Governor of the Lebanese Central Bank, Dr. Wassim Mansouri, on Friday received in his office, the head of La Regie Libanaise Des Tabacs Et Tombacs (Regie) Engineer Nassif Seklaoui.

Seklaoui briefed Mansouri on Regie’s work and its most important achievements at various levels.

WHITE HOUSE REITERATES ITS GRATITUDE TO QATAR AFTER NETANYAHU LEAK

The White House on Thursday reiterated its gratitude for Qatar – which has acted as a key mediator in hostage talks – after an apparent leaked recording of Prime Minister Netanyahu calling the country ‘problematic.’

‘Qatar is a key partner in the region. We’re grateful for their support of our continued efforts to try to get hostages out of Gaza and reunited with their families,’ John Kirby, National Security Council spokesperson, said in a statement.

In a gaggle with reporters earlier, Kirby declined to comment on the recording and said the US would continue working on a deal to secure the release of hostages.

Brett McGurk, a top White House adviser and Middle East coordinator, was in Doha for talks on Wednesday. And CIA Director Bill Burns is expected to soon meet Qatar’s prime minister – along with Egypt’s intelligence director and Israel’s Mossad director – as part of continued hostage talks.

Al-Ghabbash, Ghebreyesus discuss boosting health cooperation


Geneva: Health Minister, Dr. Hassan Al-Ghabbash , discussed with Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Ghebreyesus means of strengthening health cooperation and develop early recovery programs.

That came during the meeting of both sides on the sidelines of the 154th session of the Executive Council of the WHO, currently held in Geneva,they s discussed a number of long-term health projects, in addition to strengthening the support provided to early recovery programs.

The Health Minister pointed out that the difficulties that facing Syria are a result of the terrorist war and the unilateral coercive measures that affected different vital economic and service sectors, including the health sector, noting the significance of the support provided by the WHO to Syria during the past years.

For his part, Director-General of the WHO, stressed that the organization is commitment in continuing to provide the support that Syria requires to strengthen the health sector and continue providing he
alth care to its citizens.

207 trucks carrying supplies, fuel enter Gaza


Cairo: The dispatch of 207 trucks carrying fuel and humanitarian aid over Rafah in North Sinai and Kerem Abu Salem crossings was announced by the Egyptian Red Crescent.

The source said that 84 aid and fuel vehicles entered through the Rafah crossing, while 123 relief trucks arrived from the Kerem Abu Salem crossing.

Convoys carrying relief supplies are still arriving at Egypt’s Al-Arish International Airport in order to be transferred to the Gaza Strip.
